The Big Event is Virginia Tech’s largest day of community service, uniting Hokies around the world in the spirit of Ut Prosim—That I May Serve. Building on this tradition, the Tidewater Hokies’ Alumni Big Event brings local alumni together to give back to the community through impactful, hands-on service. Each year, volunteers support meaningful projects across the region, such as partnering with 4Kids to help children and families or with local beach and river cleanup organizations to protect our local waterways. This event strengthens our connection to Virginia Tech’s mission while making a positive difference in the Tidewater area.
