Scholarships

Dear Prospective Hokie,

As one of the over 9,000 Virginia Tech alumni in the Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach area, I am confident that if you attend Virginia Tech it will be among the most exciting of your life.

Our university motto is Ut Prosim or “That I May Serve.” Through the Tidewater Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, our members serve not only our alma mater but also our local community. A portion of that service mission is achieved by assisting local students with first-year college expenses through our scholarship program. In the past five years, our chapter has awarded over $60,000 in scholarships to new Hokies selected from our area.
